Family Days Out in and Around Harrogate
February 08, 2022Location: Crag Lane, Beckwithshaw, Harrogate HG3 1QB
Just a lovely walk through the Valley Gardens and Pine woods from our Cottages. The RHS Harlow Carr Gardens is a great place to explore for anyone who loves nature. The award-winning gardens are truly superb and can be enjoyed by visitors both young and old.
For those less inclined to walk there is a large free car park and provision for those who are disabled, the gardens are wheelchair accessible, also perfect for push chairs and prams.
The gardens have an adventure playground, interesting mazes, tree houses and even a dragon for your children to explore. There is also a den for birdwatching, a magical experience in which you and your children can be up close to some of our beautiful wild birds. It is a great way for children to learn about their native wildlife. There are also special events for children during school holidays.
Harlow Carr has its own Betty’s Tearooms and gift shop accessible from the car park. There is also a Betty’s in the gardens for light snacks and coffee.
Due to the abundance of birds and other wildlife living in the gardens, dogs are prohibited from entering the gardens except for registered support dogs.
