Harrogate Businesses

Small and family run businesses in Harrogate have changed over night.  Many have gone on line, others changed the way they deliver their goods and services. It has been wonderful to see how they are surviving despite the most difficult of years.   They have risen to the challenge of constant changes in regulations and the changing needs and desires of their clients.  It has been their ability to literally change direction overnight that has been so inspiring.  The speed with which they adapted their websites and social  media pages to enable clients to purchase on line, opening their shops to a truly national and international market left us breathless! To mention just a few: Imagined Things Bookshop, delivered books ordered on line or posted them out- great service.  Games Crusade kept us supplied with jig saws and games - same day delivery in Harrogate and surrounding ares- also post.  Buttons and Bolts went on line delivering fabrics and printed instructions for crafting and dress making - It is so good to see you all back in the high street!  The shops that were able to remain open throughout gave great service, adapting to deliver to the housebound as well as collection services these included Weaton’s, Ramus, Fodder,  Regal Fruitier's,  

Personal services inevitably means sticking closer to home.  When Artists’ Cottages were obliged to shut our doors a whole host of businesses on whom we and others in hospitality rely so much were badly hit by the sudden and constant lockdowns.  Our preferred  chef Michaela of FitChef Harrogate swapped from parties and cordon bleu to home cooked specials delivered to the door.   A firm favourite with working mums.  In Tier 2 she is back doing special dinners, catering for our guests,  as well as her weekly delivery service - you need to book!  

Beks in Commercial Street have kept us supplied with white goods.  Beks recycle, install and leave everything ready to go - often same day or next day- amazing service.  Thanks guys!
