What is happening in Harrogate?  

Thought Bubble Comic Con starts tomorrow 16th-17th November 2024. Who is coming?

Independent Comic Books 

For those who don't know, Comic Con is the biggest comic book convention for independent writers and illustrators! 

It is the place to find out what is new in the world of comic books and what direction the art and media is heading in for the next decade. 

More than just Costumes 

When you think of Comic Con the first image that comes to mind is probably the cosplayers. And why not? They are amazing! But there is far more to Comic Con than meets the eye. 

First of all, it is a community of creatives and visionaries. Every person there has a story to tell and a message they want to communicate, be it social or environmental. 

What you are seeing is creativity in its purest form, where everything goes. It is the writing equivalent of an experimental lab, where everyone is trying out new ideas and seeing how people take to them. 

Will spider man be there? 

Yes- if by Spider Man you mean Marvel! 

There is usually a main stall for all the big comic book brands including Marvel, DC Comics, and Star Wars. 

There is also the odd superhero walking around as well. If you ask nicely they may even allow you to take a photo with them.

Accommodation 

If you are travelling from outside of Harrogate and need somewhere to stay, we have you covered! 

We have five wonderful cottages all situated in Harrogate. If you are coming for Thought Bubble Comic Con 2024, we recommend staying at Artists Corner, Artists Cottage or Artists Place, as they are all located off Kings Road. They are around an 8-10 walk to get there. 

Artists’ House is close by but is a slightly longer walk. 

Artists Loft is located at the other side of Harrogate, so you will need to travel by bus to the convention centre should you choose to stay there. Takes around 5-10 minutes depending on traffic and about 25 minutes to walk.
