Why we love Harrogate!
October 20, 2023What Harrogate means to us?
Harrogate has been our home since we moved here in 1997. In that time a lot of things have changed. But one thing which has always remained is the community. Specifically the business community who have continued to support each other through the highs and lows.
To be a small business in Harrogate is to be part of an extended family. Everyone wants to see one another succeed. For me this was first evident when I was 15 years old, and doing work experience at one of the local small hotels (The Camberly) down on Kings Road. I was amazed at how all the independent hotels worked together.
If a client phoned wanting a room and they felt another hotel would be more suited to the clients needs they would pass them on knowing that if the situation was reversed they would do the same for them. This is what I really love about Harrogate. A win for one business is a win for all.
Why stay in Harrogate?
Harrogate is a truly beautiful town, as is evident by our many wonderful flower beds situated in the centre of town and in the Valley Gardens. If you want to see Harrogate at its most beautiful I would recommend coming in the Spring, when the cherry trees on the Stray are all in bloom. In autumn you can watch as the abundant trees turn into the myriad combinations of colours from autumn gold to brilliant scarlet. This truly is a great place to visit in any season. You can also visit RHS Harlow Carr Gardens which are truly lovely all year round.
Harrogate is a very vibrant town where there is always something going on be it a festival or a show. The Comedy Festival,ThoughtBubble ComicCon, and the bridal exhibitions are all annual events. Our Pantomine is the best in the region for families.
There are also plenty of places to visit near by. You can take a day trip to virtually anywhere in the North of England from Harrogate. We would recommend the Lake District, Coastal resorts, Ripon, Aysgarth, famous abbeys, Chatsworth and Harwood just to name a few.
What are we most looking forward to this year?
We are looking forward to taking the youngest members of our family to see the Harrogate pantomime. I can not wait for the Comic Con to return to see what the writers and artists have come up with this year. The boss is eagerly awaiting the next flower show and we are all excited for The Great Yorkshire Show in July.
